Iberia and Beyond 2: Here We Go

Plattsburgh, NY

Latitude 46.69 N

I am calling this trip Iberia and Beyond--2.  Thirty two years ago I travelled in Spain and Portugal and my journal from that time was called Iberia and Beyond. All trips in my younger days had names. That summer--1982--I flew to Spain, traveled into France and Andorra, then returned to Spain where I then went to Portugal and Morocco.

This trip is a bit less ambitious, but will take twice the time.  There is no longer a need to travel at warp speed--which is very nice.

Tonight I off for Lisbon and two weeks in Portugal. From there I cross into Spain for three weeks visiting the Moorish gems of Seville, Granada and Cordoba. On October 18th, I'll meet Glenda in Madrid where we spend a week before boarding the SS Norwegian Epic in Barcelona on October 26th for a two week Atlantic crossing. From Miami I fly on to Mexico City for two weeks, with a five day interlude to my favorite Mexican beach town—Zipolite. I'll arrive home just in time for Thanksgiving—the first time I've been home in late November in three years.

If you're reading this, wish me God speed.
